Starting (and running) a small business is hard…it takes an incredible amount of courage, perseverance, and WORK! But more than anything, it takes a village.
Confetti Betti would not be possible without the love and support of our husbands, Mike and Joe, our kids (we have too many to list here), and all of our family and friends.
This edition of the Betti Says Blog is written from Mike Johnson’s point of view, which is shared by Dr. Joe D’Haenens. Read on for a good laugh and an inside look at Betti World.
Now that our post-holiday psychosis has mostly passed, we’ve been thinking a lot about all the celebrating we want to do in the months ahead. Basically, we are ready to put our party pants on and want to celebrate EVERYTHING! With this Betti Says Blog entry, we wanted to share some of our ideas for celebrating some of the generally smaller holidays coming in the next few months. Read More
It’s no secret that at Confetti Betti our primary objective is to CELEBRATE. We celebrate all the things…from little moments of friendship to big milestone events. The core of our mission is to make the power of the party, the magic of celebration, easier and more accessible for our customers. As we’ve entered this holiday season, we’ve been thinking a lot about the intersection of celebration and gratitude. Betti has shown us that this sweet spot, where gratitude and celebration meet, is where the best kind of magic happens. With this Betti Says Blog entry, we wanted to share our gratitude with you and update you on where the Power of the Party has been especially poignant in Betti Land the past few months. Read More
It feels like there are two types of people in this world, those that LOVE Halloween and those that despise it. At Confetti Betti, we are obviously on team CELEBRATE EVERYTHING, so its safe to count us in the group that is strangely obsessive over spooky décor, sweet treats, and themed group costumes. All that said, whether you are spending your fall boo-hooing over how much you dislike Halloween, or joyfully BOO-ing every chance you get, we can all agree that there is nothing better than a good Halloween treat. Even the grumpiest ghost can’t turn their nose up to a warm cider donut, a spiced drink, or their favorite piece of Halloween candy (team Reese’s here). Our aim at Confetti Betti is to make celebrating easier, so read on to glean some of our favorite seasonal tricks and treats this October! Read More
When we decided to chase our Confetti Betti dream one of the first things we did was to discuss what our mission was. That was pretty simple for us…we believe in the POWER OF THE PARTY! The power of people, of communities, of relationships. And we wanted to help cultivate a world in which we can all connect and celebrate more. Whether that is in the form of a festive gathering made easier by one of our party kits, or in the form of a celebration box delivered to a loved one’s doorstep; we seek to bring people together, to celebrate even the littlest moments in life, and to positively impact our community. We decided to call this last component of our business the ‘Betti Effect’ in honor of our grandmothers, for whom our business is named. The Betti Effect is about more than making a donation to a local nonprofit’s auction, or spending a day volunteering. In our dreams, the Betti Effect is a movement backed by science that tells us that not only is celebrating fun, but it’s good for us! Read More
We have often described Confetti Betti as our ‘Covid baby,’ as the bulk of building Betti took place during the worldwide pandemic. Just like with our real kiddos, it’s like we blinked and our baby is turning a year old! We would be lying if we said we weren’t feeling a little emotional as we reflect back on our year of spreading the power of the party. As we get ready to celebrate the 1 year mark of our business on August 21st, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what Betti has meant to us, how we’ve grown, what we’ve learned, and of course reminisce about all the fun we’ve had celebrating with YOU! Liz here! I have the great privilege of introducing our next 'Betti Says' guest blogger. Please give a big Betti welcome to one of my dearest and oldest friends, Annie! Annie and I did gymnastics together at the University of Iowa and the bond of being sisters in the gym never seems to fade. As such, I will never forget the day I received a group email from Annie to all of our teammates. She had news to share, her new baby was sick with a rare and chronic health condition. This news shook all of us, throwing our expertly trained gymnastics team balance into chaos. We did what we could to help, but honestly, most of us felt pretty helpless. Leave it to Annie to lead us through it....helping us find our collective balance once again. And you know what?!...The sweet baby in question just celebrated her 4th birthday! When Annie called me about doing a Betti Box for our special 4 year old, Whitney and I couldn't wait to help. Read on to learn more about Annie's story and her journey to find balance in parenthood, one candle at a time.

It’s hard to believe, but Memorial Day weekend and thus, the official arrival of summer, are only a couple weeks away! The approaching warmer weather, vacation time, and hopefully, decreased social distancing restrictions; have us dreaming of family reunions, barbeques and every kind of celebration from the block party to the birthday party. We recently helped our friend, Brandy with a super cute (and semi socially distanced) birthday party for her little boy. Thanks to Brandy’s gift for all things artsy and creative, the party turned out even better than we could have imagined! As such, we asked her to share all the details as a Betti Says guest blogger! Read on for all the details on this classic summer themed party! Read More
We are so thrilled to introduce our first Betti Says guest blogger, Ashley Joines! Ashley is an amazing mom of two girls and an incredibly talented photographer. As we start to think about celebrating Mother’s Day, we asked Ashley to reflect on her experience as both a mom and a photographer. We couldn’t love this blog or all the Mama’s in our life more. Enjoy!
Easter season is upon us and as we’ve been dreaming of cotton tails and pastel color palates, we started reflecting on all of the beautiful traditions each holiday season brings us. With Easter, the anticipation of a blooming, hope filled Spring mingles with the end of winter and for some, the contemplation of the Lenten season. This makes Easter a particularly special time, filled with wonderful traditions. With this Easter edition of the Betti Says Blog, we wanted to explore a few of our favorites, and also a few new ones that this particular Easter season is bringing us! Read More
We all know it’s coming…at least one child in our life is going to be asked (or ask) to build a trap to catch that pesky Saint Patrick’s Day leprechaun. Cue the deep dive into the recycle bin to dig out a paper towel roll or two and enough Amazon cardboard to build...well...something? Where’s the box cutter? And the glue gun? How about the green and rainbow colored accents? And just when you think you’ve managed to dig up enough random building materials to build a respectable trap…your kid is about to ask you about bait? BAIT?!?! Hold on. We thought Saint Patrick’s Day was for the big kids. You know…a kiss me I’m Irish, raise a pint kind of day. The truth is, it doesn’t have to be this way! The season of four leaf clovers really can be good clean fun for all! So don’t worry, we are here to assist in not only making it memorable for your little leprechaun hunters, but more importantly, EASY for you! Read on to see what the Betties have planned for Saint Patrick’s Day 2021! Read More
